Trolling Report

 Hello Crowley Lake Trolling Fans,

As we gear up for a great Memorial Weekend holiday the fishing is HOT HOT HOT!!!!!!! Get your rental boat if they still have any left.

The most productive fishing seems to be in 20-50 feet of water, from the surface all the way to the bottom.

Here are some of the top spots that have been producing:

 *McGee Bay

* Sandy Point to The Willows

* Alligator Point

* Hilton Bay big and small

As for what's working best, here are a few recommendations:

Tasmanian Devils: Bleeding Frog, Bloody Ripper, Orange Perch, and Pink Frog patterns are all effective in any size. Try trolling speeds of 2.5-4 mph.

Needle Fish and Thomas Buoyants: Black Dot Frog, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout (Blue and Silver, Black and Silver), and Perch patterns are working well in all sizes.

Rapalas: Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Black and Silver Countdown models are producing good results. A trolling speed of 3-5 mph with a ripping action appears to be most effective.

All fish species are biting, Cutts, Browns and Rainbows

Wishing you tight lines, and I hope to see you out on the lake!

Best of luck,

Fly Fishing Report

The fishing at Crowley is red hot! It's been a long time since it's been this good. The fish are spread out all over the lake, but some good places to try would be Hilton, Christmas/Alligator, and McGee.

The water temperature is in the low 50s.  Fish are being caught between 15 and 25 ft. They are taking midges in sizes 16 to 18. Using dark colored albinos has been the best bet.  You can easily have a double digit morning!

Looks like this coming week is going to have much nicer weather so this would be a great time to come on up and catch a lot of trophy trout here at Crowley.

Bait and Spin Report

Welcome to beautiful Crowley lake!

Well, it’s been a fantastic week of fishing. There’s a lot of fish spread out all over the lake. McGee, Christmas Bay, Alligator Point and north arm have lots of biting fish.
I’ve finding my own fish with clients for the last few days and catching some hard pulling rainbows and browns. The cutthroat are sprinkled in as well and they are fat.
Mini jigs, kastmasters, Thomas bouyants and anything shiny has been getting bites. Really fun fishing.
Colors don’t seem to matter too much yet, mini jigs I always like motor oil color with some flake in it.
Bait fishing is very consistent with night crawlers being the best bait for us.
2-3 foot florocarbon  leaders are recommended, fish are off the bottoms and all throughout the water column. 4 pound test is my go to for that.
Make sure to give everyone enough space to cast and fish, there’s plenty of room on this big beautiful lake for everyone.

Good luck and tight lines
