Trolling Report

 Hello Crowley Lake Trolling Fans,

The fishing here just keeps getting better and better!

The most productive fishing seems to be in 20-30 feet of water, 3 to 4 colors deep.

Here are some of the top spots that have been producing:

 *McGee Bay

* Sandy Point to The Willows

* Alligator Point

* Hilton Bay big and small

As for what's working best, here are a few recommendations:

Tasmanian Devils: Bleeding Frog, Bloody Ripper, Orange Perch, and Pink Frog patterns are all effective in any size. Try trolling speeds of 2.5-4 mph.

Needle Fish and Thomas Buoyants: Black Dot Frog, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout (Blue and Silver, Black and Silver), and Perch patterns are working well in all sizes.

Rapalas: Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Black and Silver Countdown models are producing good results. A trolling speed of 3-5 mph with a ripping action appears to be most effective.

All fish species are biting, Cutts, Browns and Rainbows

Wishing you tight lines, and I hope to see you out on the lake!

Best of luck,

Fly Fishing Report

We are having some really nice days for fishing now, where the winds are holding off, allowing for all day fishing. The surface water temperatures are nearing 70°.  Please do not remove the fish from the water for those glory shots, with these warmer water temperatures, they are easily stressed, and we are trying to maintain this excellent fishery.

The fish have moved into shallower water anywhere from 15-25'.  Look for them around Hilton, Sandy, and McGee.  They are still a little spread out but starting to find them more concentrated in certain areas. You may have to move around a little.  Double digit days are common now.

Midges are still the food of choice, switch up colors and depth until you find what's working. Albinos are best in the morning.  Damsels are showing up so you might want to use that as an upper fly.

Bait and Spin Report

Hello Crowley Lake Anglers,

Fishing is definitely heating back up.
With fish still spread out all over, finding your own fish is really something special and less crowded.
Trout fishing has really been fun using nightcrawlers, pinched crawlers, and powerboat in yellow.
2-3 foot Long leaders with 4 pound florocarbon leader has been best for me, Carolina rig style.
Best areas for trout are McGee bay, Sandy point and Hilton bay.
Big browns and rainbows have been pulling hard, so make sure your drags are set properly.
Perch fishing has been really good, 8-12 feet of water has been best. Grubs, mini jigs and little rapalas are great lures.
Best spots for perch are Sandy Point, Stormy Flats and McGee bay.
Good luck and tight lines.

Good luck and tight lines!
